Dawn Novotny

Where were you born and where did you grow up?
I was born in Glenwood Springs, and grew up here in summit county K-12.

What was your first job?
My first paid job was for babysitting, which I did a lot of. This was before I became an expert and putting the "Q" on ice cream cones at Dairy Queen!!

What was your favorite subject to study in school?
Science...of any kind

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy working with stained glass, particularly fusing and have 2 kilns of my own. I like to mess around in my flower gardens in the summer and I like a good puzzle in the winter evenings. Like most Summit County folks, I like to be in nature.... hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling - none of which I am an expert, but all of which I enjoy.

Do you have pets? If so, what kind of animal are they and what are their names?
I have a little bossy 9 yr. old chihuahua/min pin/terrier named Elliot.

Where is your favorite place you've traveled to?
I have been fortunate to travle quite a bit. I very much enjoyed Chiro, Egypt and equally, Israel's Dead Sea region.

What is something most people don't know about you?
I am distantly related to Laura Ingalls Wilder... the "Little House on the Prairie" family! My maiden name is Ingalls.

What skill would you most like to learn?
Metal work

What is one thing on your bucket list?
To visit Greece

What is one thing that instantly makes your day better?
Hearing from one my daughters, just to say hi.

Friendly, happy, observant

What is your favorite thing about working at Lake Dillon Eye Care?
Meeting patients and being of service to them. Working with this team is rewarding because everyone puts their heart into this work.
