Lake Dillon Eye Care was established in June of 2012.  We are the only eye center to offer surgical services in Summit County, thus eliminating the need for patients to commute to Denver for cataract surgery and various corneal procedures.  All surgeries are performed at Peak One Outpatient Department at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco, CO.  Our Optometrist, Dr. Wills Vanray, and Ophthalmologist, Dr. Matthew Chang, partner to provide the highest quality eye care, combined with professionalism, respect, and unmatched compassion for their patients.  Here at Lake Dillon Eye Care, we believe that healthy eyes lead to healthy living - it's the Colorado way.



Dr. Wills Vanray is a 2006 graduate of Southern California College of Optometry. He completed a residency program in hospital-based primary care and ocular disease with the Indian Health Services in Gallup, New Mexico. He is experienced in treating glaucoma, diabetic eye diseases, trauma, and systemically-related ocular conditions. Dr. Vanray practiced for 7 years with the Indian Health Services, working directly with Ophthalmology department providing pre and post operation care. He was also the Diabetic Coordinator at Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) in Shiprock, NM, co-managing diabetic patients with the Internal Medicine Clinic, and ensuring they received regularly scheduled care.

Dr. Vanray received the Most Outstanding Optometrist Award in 2010, while working at NNMC. He strives to provide the highest quality eye care for every patient, with the same level of compassion and respect. He believes in working intimately with other disciplines of the medical community to ensure the overall well-being of each patient. As a refugee from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Wills grew up in Long Beach, CA., and now he loves calling Colorado his permanent home. Dr. Vanray has been practicing at Lake Dillon Eye Care since 2013, and has owned the practice since 2017.



Dr. Melissa Vanray grew up in Amherst, OH, just outside of Cleveland. She received her degree in Biological Sciences at Bowling Green University, then immediately proceeded to Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, attaining her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007. Her education continued at Kayenta Health Center in Arizona, where she did her residency training in Primary Care and ocular disease. Dr. Vanray continued to provide care for the Navajo people in Kayenta after completion of her residency program. She enjoyed serving and working closely with this group of Native Americans for 6 years, both in Kayenta and Tuba City, AZ.

Dr. Vanray is well experienced in treating and managing diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, eye trauma, ocular inflammatory conditions related to a variety of autoimmune diseases, and much more. While at Kayenta Health Center, she worked cooperatively with other fields of medicine to care for the patients' overall health, in addition to their eye health. She believes in providing comprehensive eye care as it relates to each patient's unique medical history. Dr. Vanray delivers care exuding great compassion and respect for all patients she encounters.



Dr. Matthew Chang is originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, IL. He completed his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and went on to become one of the first physicians to complete a dual degree in medicine and business administration, focusing on health economics, at the prestigious Medical Scholars Program at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Dr. Chang completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Michigan, where he was elected chief resident in his final year by his peers. Dr. Chang continued his education at the University of Arizona, where he completed his fellowship training in cornea, refractive surgery, and external disease. He has conducted numerous research studies in refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma.

Dr. Chang is one of the most proficient and prolific surgeons in Colorado. He performs a wide array of anterior segment procedures, including topical, stitch-less cataract surgery utilizing the most advanced intraocular lens implants using accommodative and multi-focal technology, corneal transplants, laser refractive surgery, and glaucoma laser surgery. He strives to stay abreast of the latest technologies and research to advance the level of care to his patients. Dr. Chang has the insight and experience to help you achieve your goals.
